Restaurant and bar are closed on Wednesday and that's not obvious on the website. Also walls are thin. On the plus side, the building is historically interesting, on a lake with loons calling in the distance, and the porches are filled with rocking chairs and Adirondack chairs on the lake. The general building ambiance is good, the rooms are adequate. - mattresses are a bit firm for me. Just don't come on Wednesday night if you want to eat or drink here....

We had our wedding here in September and it was fabulous! The setting is perfect, the venue and grounds are well kept and clean, the staff is attentive and personal and super friendly! They really go above and beyond to pay attention to details. The pavilion is a great space, with walls and heaters if needed. We had a buffet style dinner which all of our guests complemented. Guests can stay on site which is an added bonus. If you are thinking of having your wedding here do not hesitate! Can't say enough about what a wonderful event it was! I recommend renting the Lakeview cottage for your wedding party!

We were a bit skeptical about the inn when we first arrived, as the room was VERY noisy, and there was about a three-inch gap between the door and floor of the door that separated our room from another room. However, amazingly, everyone got quiet at around the same time, and stayed quiet until a very reasonable time. The grounds are also beautiful, with a lovely lake-front pier that we enjoyed at night. The bed was not comfortable, which ended up as the actual downfall, and our room appeared to be right over the kitchen, which was very hot. We would definitely go again, however; we would just choose a different room!

We have stayed at the Woods Inn three years in a row. We love the experience of an authentic Adirondack Hotel in a beautiful setting. This is one of the few such hotels left and it has been beautifully restored with some modern updates such as free wifi. We can't wait to go back.

This was my second visit to The Woods Inn. The hotel complex complete with restaurant and tavern is unique in the area. As a rustic destination it is a throwback to more relaxing times. The staff and owner are cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable about the area making sure that your visit is pleasant. We stayed in room 304. There are only four rooms on the floor and 304 is at the end of the hall so more private. The exterior stairway serves a private entrance. The mini-fridge and split bathroom with jacuzzi tub were welcome modern conveniences, especially after a day of shopping and hiking. But the highlight is the wonderful view overlooking the lake below your windows. This will be an annual destination.
